Fire and Infrastructure Networks

Contracting (MEP)

MEPCO executes comprehensive contracting packages for life-safety civil defense systems, firefighting networks, and municipal wet infrastructure. Our capabilities encompass potable water distribution pipelines, gravity sewage networks, sewage pumping stations, fire pump installations, outdoor fire hydrants, automatic sprinkler systems, and addressable fire alarm networks.

Technical Scope & Engineering Capabilities

MEPCO Engineering Projects brings specialized domain knowledge, rigorous modeling standards, and practical site experience to every assignment. Our scope covers:

  • Firefighting Piping & Hydrant Networks: Procurement, trenching, welding, and installation of carbon steel and HDPE underground firefighting water mains, outdoor pillar fire hydrants, and sectional control valves.
  • Fire Pump Station Installation: Erection, alignment, piping, and commissioning of UL-listed / FM-approved fire pump sets (electric motor pump, diesel engine backup pump, and electric jockey pump) with automatic control panels.
  • Civil Defense & Fire Alarm Systems: Installation of addressable fire alarm control panels (FACP), smoke/heat detectors, manual call points, sounder strobes, and civil defense certification.
  • Potable Water Pipeline Networks: Supply, trenching, jointing, pressure testing, and disinfection of ductile iron and HDPE potable water supply mains.
  • Sewage Networks & Pumping Stations: Installation of gravity sewage piping, precast manholes, wet-well sewage lift stations, submersible pumps, and discharge force mains.
  • Irrigation & Drainage Infrastructure: Pipeline networks, automated solenoid valves, and booster pumps for landscape and agricultural irrigation.
Software Platforms & Computational Tools

Testing Equipment: Hydrostatic pressure testing rigs, ultrasonic flow meters, fire alarm programming consoles.

Applicable Standards & Grid Codes

Fire Standards: NFPA 13 (Installation of Sprinkler Systems), NFPA 14 (Standpipe and Hose Systems), NFPA 20 (Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection), NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code), Egyptian Civil Defense Regulations.

Water Standards: AWWA and Egyptian National Water & Wastewater Authority specifications.

Methodology & Project Delivery Workflow

Our engineering delivery aligns with MEPCO’s structured 6-stage project execution framework, ensuring quality throughout input verification, design modeling, and client handover:

  1. Stage 01 — Scope & Criteria Definition: Establish study boundaries, utility tie-in data, single-line diagrams, and client objectives.
  2. Stage 02 — Data Audit & Modeling Assumptions: Collect, verify, and validate manufacturer datasheets, impedance tolerances, and site operating configurations.
  3. Stage 03 — Simulation Model Development: Build detailed, validated mathematical digital models in specialized power software.
  4. Stage 04 — Computational Analysis & Verification: Execute base-case and contingency scenarios, conducting rigorous internal peer reviews.
  5. Stage 05 — Client Review & Approval: Present study findings, address technical comments, and participate in technical clarification sessions.
  6. Stage 06 — Final Handover: Deliver formal certified engineering reports, executive summaries, and native simulation model files.
